She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society. She completed her pediatric dentistry residency at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) while achieving a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and Certificate of Interdisciplinary Disability Studies. In 2019, Dr. Muñoz became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). Her commitment to advocacy is evident through her work as Connecticut’s AAPD Public Policy Advocate (PPA), her presidency at the Connecticut Oral Health Initiative (COHI), and her multiple awards for leadership in oral health, including the COHI Oral Health Champion Award and the 2023 Connecticut State Dental Association Rising Star Award. Dr. Muñoz’s mission is to create positive, prevention-focused dental experiences that empower children to embrace oral health for life.
